Commercial Drone Pilot Certification Training

 

 

This spring MERI will host a two day ground school class to prepare students for the FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification exam. This course provides students the material knowledge and skills needed for FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification. The course is instructed by UAS Academy’s FAA licensed drone pilots.

Topics include:

  • Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) regulations
  • Reading navigation charts
  • Decoding meteorological reports
  • Understanding airspace limitations
  • Information needed for signing up with a test center and acquiring a UAS commercial pilot license.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drones are an emerging technology spanning multiple industries. Their applications include site assessments, construction site and tide gate monitoring, wetlands and natural resource monitoring, real estate, videography and film, and elevation profiling. Those who wish to use drones for commercial or business use MUST have an FAA Part 107 UAS pilot license.

The course includes two full days of instruction, FAA online reviews, and practice exams.There are two course dates available.  Registration will close when classes are filled. Classes are hosted at MERI’s facility in Lyndhurst, NJ. Parking is provided and students are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Course dates, registration deadlines, and address information are below:

Class 1: March 5-6, 2018. Registration by February 16.

Class 2: April 23-24, 2018. Registration by March 30.

Course Time: 8:30am-4:30pm

Cost: $250
