Interactive Maps
Municipal Map MERI's new Municipal Map provides information previously found in the earlier municipal and parcel mapping applications as well as new and improved features all in one easy to use interface.

The purpose of this application is to provide Meadowlands District municipalities with access to maps and records on properties and infrastructure for managing municipal assets, planning for improvements and supporting emergency management operations.
Flooding Map Ninety percent of the Hackensack Meadowlands District (District) is merely two feet above mean high water (high tide). This application contains maps showing properties in the District that would flood during sea surges of 2, 4, 6 and greater than 8 feet above normal. The Elevation Model is based on 2002 topographic data and the height of each tide gate structure and are also labeled accordingly. Once NOAA predicts a sea surge event, the NJMC will send out warnings indicating the timing and specific flood map to inspect according to the magnitude of the predicted event.

Areas in blue show properties that will flood at the corresponding surge level. For example, on the 2-foot map, areas in blue will flood because the ground elevation is less than two feet.

Areas in red show properties that will flood only if the tide gates fail. For example, on the 2- foot map, areas in red will flood only if the tide gates fail.

Note: The elevation model was derived using photogrametric methods and 2 foot contour intervals (State Plane NAVD88 – vertical) (Kucera International 2002). Municipal maps are geo-referenced in State Plane Projection with North American Horizontal Datum of 1983 (State Plane NAD83 – horizontal) and State Plane North American Vertical Datum (State Plane NAVD88 – vertical) using feet as the base unit.
